By ferry:
Algajola is found right between the two larger towns Ile Rousse (8 km) and Calvi (15 km). It is possible to sail from the
continent directly to both these towns (Corsica Ferries, SNCM). Alternatively, there are also numerous boat connections to
Bastia, situated on the east coast, 90 km away (Corsica Ferries, SNCM, CMN La Meridionale, Moby Lines). There are train connections from Algajola to all three towns.
From Denmark the closest ferry connection is reached in Savona or Genoa, but it is also possible to sail from
for instance Livorno, Nice, Marseille or Toulon.
By plane:
From May to October there are direct flight connections every Saturday from Copenhagen to Bastia with the charter
companies Ruby Rejser and Langley Travel. During the Danish school summer holiday also Suntours have direct weekly charter flights.
The flying time is less than 3 hours and the ticket price ranges from 2.500 to 4.000 DKK depending on the season.
Sometimes you can however be lucky and find very cheap last minutes seats on these flights in the outer seasons.
It is less expensive and better to fly via Nice (NCE), to where it is possible to obtain a wide selection of low cost
tickets. From Denmark there are direct flights to Nice with Cimber Sterling, Norvegian and SAS. SAS is also flying directly
to Lyon from where it is also possible to fly to Corsica.
From Nice or Lyon one can continue with domestic flights (CCM/Air France) to Calvi (CLY) or by ferry to either Ile
Rousse or Calvi. The entire flight journey from Copenhagen to Calvi can be done in approx. 5½ hours at a price in the order
of 2-2.500 DKK. It is obviously also possible to fly via Paris to Calvi, but the route is less attractive, as it requires
a transfer from CDG to ORY airport in Paris.
Finally, it is possible to find very cheap tickets to Bastia with Easyjet flying either via Paris (CDG) or Geneva.
